Commcare, OBRA, & Independence Waiver Programs

Individuals who have suffered a traumatic brain injury, as well as people who are currently living in a nursing home or a supported living arrangement, may be eligible to receive services that allow those individuals to live in community settings and enjoy greater freedom and independence. Nisar, with its clinical expertise and high quality services in behavioral health, speech therapy and education is an approved Provider under these Waiver Programs.

Behavioral Health/Counseling

Nisar's clinicians have experience in helping individuals with various injuries to learn and regain the skills necessary for daily living. The individual plan will focus on multiple areas, including social and daily living skills, disruptive behavior issues as well as self-injurious and aggressive behaviors and coping skills.

Education

Our services also extend into the area of formal educational needs that clients may have as a result of a traumatic brain injury or other condition that affects cognition.

Speech Therapy

Nisar's Speech-Language Pathologists identify, assess and treat speech and language problems including swallowing disorders. They offer therapeutic interventions in the areas of language, cognition, articulation, voice, and fluency. Interventions are also based on communication disorders relating to hearing loss, stroke, progressive neurological disorders and autistic spectrum disorders.
