Nisar offers internships for students studying Counseling, Social Work, and Psychology at the Master’s level.
Our interns typically do the work of a behavioral health technician (BHT), providing one-to-one interventions prescribed by master’s-level staff. Interns develop meaningful skills in the community and hone these therapeutic skills in a one-on-one session with a child and their family.
At Nisar, we pay our interns a competitive wage for the hours that they spend in the field. In addition, we offer our interns opportunities to shadow senior clinicians, attend MCO and State Meetings, and participate in group supervision for our mobile therapists and behavior consultants.
The goal of our internship program is to show graduate students a path they can follow from graduate school to master’s-level wok all the way to their own outpatient practice.
Nisar has established internship relationships with the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, Carlow College, Chatham University, PennWest Edinboro, Slippery Rock University, Capella University, the University of Denver, and several other schools.
