Written Orders
Written orders are prescriptions that authorize behavioral health services. Our licensed therapists meet with individuals and their families to assess needs and develop this clinical roadmap for care.
What is a written order?
A written order is a prescription for intensive behavioral health services (IBHS). Created by a licensed therapist following a face-to-face clinical evaluation with a child, youth, or young adult, this document authorizes and specifies the type and duration of IBHS services needed. A written order includes:
clinical information to support the medical necessity of individual services
maximum number of hours of each service per month
setting where services may be provided
measurable criteria that indicate when services may be reduced, changed, or discharged
How long is the order active?
Written orders are annual prescriptions. IBHS services can begin any time within 12 months from the date of the written order, and the order is active for a 12-month period beginning on the first day that services are provided. A written order needs to be conducted every 12 months.
How do I get started?
Nisar provides written orders for individuals, ages 2 to 20, who have active Medicaid insurance and have completed their intake, HIPAA form, and consent for treatment.
To schedule a written order for IBHS, either in-person at our Monroeville office or via telehealth, please email Ryan O’Donnell, LCSW, at rodonnell@nisarinc.com or call 412-374-8275 x9.
